Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. A lot of people who aren't aware of they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually, the West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. It is often cited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel was raised in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be a dancer. But, a growing spurt caused her to outgrow every dance partner she was able to have. She admitted in an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. As soon as I outgrew my male counterparts then I stopped. Many dancers make the transition into acting. In the case of the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her in that direction. The teacher encouraged her to audition for a part in the school's production. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than twenty years, and she's appeared in 60 different productions, both on big screens and on smaller ones. Her most recognizable role was that of Rita (pictured beneath) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the only Canadian actor during the season 1 of the show and was only appeared on occasion.
